Sixth Form

Welcome to the Sixth Form area of our website. Our Sixth Form is a real strength of our Academy and we are very proud of it. Over the last two years ours students' outcomes in A Level and level three BTEC courses have continued to improve, allowing our students to progress to a range of post 18 opportunities. Last year all of our year 13 students achieved a place at university, an apprenticeship or a job with increasing numbers progressing to Russell Group Universities.

Our Sixth Form students are supported by very experienced, expert Teachers and Form Tutors in small tutor groups, offering personalised information, advice and guidance through our tutor programme which allows our students to make this great progress. Students will find many differences between being in Year 11 and in the Sixth Form. The expectations of Teachers become much higher and there is an expectation to complete more challenging work, work more independently and make good use of study periods.

Our enrichment programme and work experience links further enhance the experience of our students. More information on these areas of our post 16 offer can be found on the links in this area.

If you are interested in finding out more about the exciting opportunities on offer at The Blyth Academy Sixth Form, and would like to arrange an informal visit please contact our Head of Sixth Form, Mr A Burdon to arrange this.
